Anglesea is Rob's summertime holiday location, that his family visited every summer throughout his childhood. Nowadays we enjoy weekends there in both summer and wintertime.
Why Go:
Anglesea has a surf beach and is great summer holiday location for families.
Highlights:
- Town: Gorgeous small seaside town
- Shopping: shopping village with everything you will ever need
- Beach: Good surf beach break
- Golf Course: the golf course is well known for the large herds of kangaroos that take over the fairways. You can visit just to see the roos, or even play a game on the class course.
- Art gallery: Malaleuca Galley on the main road is worth a browse if you are passing during its limited opening hours.
- Walking: there are great tracks along the river and in the nearby Anglehook Park, or you could walk along the beaches at low tide to Pt Addis or Pt Roadnight.
Lowlights:
- in wintertime much of the place closes down and it gets pretty cold.
