Why Go:
- Located along the spectacular east coast, the town is dominated by the Hazards mountina range. A short walk from Coles Bay is the spectacular Wineglass Bay in the Freycinet National Park
Highlights:
- Wineglass Bay: a beautiful isolated beach, requiring a half hour hike up to the lookout, and another half hour to reach the beach. For the less adventurous, you can take a boat cruise to see the bay from the water.

- Wildlife spotting
- Boating
- Fishing: the waters around Coles Bay are popular with fishermen. If you do not catch anything, you could head up to Freycinet Marine Farm just out of town and pick up some oysters.
Eating & Drinking:
- there are two mini supermarkets in the town for your supplies
- restaurants include the Freycinet Lodge, marine farm, bakery
- The only pub is the Iluka Tavern
Other things you should know about:
- places to stay include the YHA (Iluka and bush cabin), a caravan and camping park , holiday units, B&Bs, and camping in the National Park.
