The following are examples of menu items from countries from North, Central and South America, and many of the menu items reflect specialties of the region. These items have been part of the menu at some stage, and may or may not be still on the menu.
McDonalds Mexico
- McBurrito a la Mexicana and McNifica
McDonald's Canada
- Pizza – cheese, vegetable, pepperoni and deluxe
- Poutine – a Canadian dish of French Fries, cheese curds, and gravy initially only available in Quebec, but now available throughout Canada.
Also in some locations in the Maritime Provinces of Canada and in the northeastern US:
- McLobster (called McHomard in French) - a sandwich consisting of chunks of lobster meat on a white bread roll.
McDonald's Uruguay
- McHuevo - a hamburger with a poached egg on top
McDonald's Paraguay
- On the menu are McMacos, McFilet and McFiesta
McDonalds Chile
- McPalta – tomatoes, avocado, mayonnaise, onions and mustard. Also in Chile: customers can add avocado paste to any sandwich. Cheese empanadas are also sold at all McDonald's locations in Chile under the same category as fries.
McDonald's Argentina
- The McNifica – a hamburger sandwich with cheese, tomato, onion and lettuce
McDonalds Peru
- Aji – a spicy sauce for customers to dip their fries in or add to their hamburgers.
McDonalds Costa Rica
- Whole rotisserie chickens are available – they just love their fried chicken in Costa Rica!
