Fort Cornwallis
located in George Town, Penang, Malaysia
Fort Cornwallis was built on the site where Sir Francis Light made his historic landing in 1986. It was named after the Governor General in Bengal, Charles Cornwallis.
The fort is an important landmark and a must see tourist attraction in Penang.

- gunpowder magazine storage room.
- a Christian chapel.
- a lighthouse.
- several cannons (including the Sri Rambai Cannon, which was found in the straits of Malacca in 1880. Childless women are advised to place flowers in the barrel and offer it special prayers)
