Most people go to Hong Kong for the shopping and food. In 2002, we were lucky to have a work trip to Hong Kong, and were able to enjoy the shopping and food too.
Highlights:
- Skyline: The Hong Kong skyline is very impressive. Before they moved the airport, planes landing in Hong Koong would descend between the buildings. For the best view, head to the The Peak Hong Kong, which is 396 metres above sea level and makes a awesome viewpoint for witnessing the city skyline.
- Food: The Chinese food here is nothing like the chinese you probably have at home. It is pretty easy to find a restaurant serving authentic cusine.
- Day trips: You can catch a 45 minute local ferry out to Cheung Chau Island, and enjoy walking around, lazing on the beach, and sampling at the numerous restaurants. You neeed to catch a ferry from the Outlying Islands Ferry Pier 5 at Central on Hong Kong Island.
Eating & Drinking:
- A visit to Hong Kong is a fantastic opportunity to sample some authentic Chinese food at a great price. Little local eateries are available everywhere.
