Top 10 Places to See and Things to Do
- Hire a boat and go for a paddle on the lake (if there is enough water in it. When we visited mid summer there was not)
- Take a bush walk on one of the eight walking tracks in the park. A nice easy one is the 2km walk around the lake (Loch McNess). There is a good chance you will see a kangaroo or two. Another great walk is the longer Ghosthouse walk trail which is 9km long.
- See the koalas located in the nearby enclosure.
- Have an ice cream from the kiosk or chocolate treat from the cafe.
- Go on a tour of the limestone Crystal Cave, home to many amphipods - shrimp like crustaceans that live in the cave's streams.
- Have a drink or meal at the historic Yanchep Inn.
- take part in an 'Aboriginal Experience'.
- Play a round of golf on the tranquil 9 hole course.
- go kangaroo spotting or other wildlife
- Have a picnic by the lake. There are free barbeques and plenty of grassy areas
