- Tasmania's second largest city, and full of history. The city has great examples of Edwardian, Victorian and Federation architecture.
Highlights:
- Cataract Gorge: Cataract Gorge is a 160 ha reserve, a fantastic natural attraction on a few minutes walk from the centre of town. The reserve includes several walks and a suspension bridge and chairlift.
- Queen Victoria Museum which has a great planetarium.
- Princes Square - a small park with a water fountain.
- City Park - watch the monkeys and view the glasshouse.
- Inveresk Art Gallery and Museum.
- Boags Centre for Beer - tours.

- Launceston is a large town with the full range of eating and drinking establishments.
