Camooweal

Camooweal is 185 km west of Mt Isa along the Barkley Highway, and only 18 km from the NT border. The town is administered by the Mt Isa city council, making it possibly the longest main street in the world.

• historic buildings
• on the west side of town there is a lake where it is great to see Brolgas.
• Freckleton General Store - a historic store worth a visit. There is a museum next door, the Barkley Tableland Heritage Centre.
• Camooweal Cave National Park, about 20 km away, for experienced cavers only.
