Last Visited:
Rob first visited this great place in 1988 on his Broome Trip, and together we had a short stay in 1999-2000 during our Westcoast adventure
Why Go:
Despite growing larger in popularity as a holiday desitination, it is still a pretty quiet place for a relaxing trip.
Highlights:
- Cable Beach: a great place for a swim in the tropical waters and to watch the sun set over the ocean.
- Camel Rides: there are camel rides you can do along the beach. Sounds relaxing.
- Dinosaur Footprint: for those who may be interested in these sort of things, there is a fascinating dinosaur footprint to view at the south end of Cable beach at low tide.
Lowlights:
- You should not swim at the beaches during certain times of the year due to the dangerous stingers.
Eating & Drinking:
There are plenty of casual places in town.
Other things you should know about:
- The beach is situated about 10 km from the town centre, though you can stay near the beach.
