The Tiwi Islands comprises the two islands Melville and Bathurst, located about 80 km north of Darwin. The islands are Aboriginal lands, and you need a permit to visit, except for one day a year when the popular Tiwi Islands AFL grand final is played.

- go across in March to see the Tiwi Islands AFL grand final match.
- try damper and billy tea straight from the fire
