Hong Kong Highrise

China
Our only foray into Chinese lands has been a two short trips to Hong
Kong, in 2002 and 2005.
Location Profile
Jingdezhen
The town of Jingdezhen, once a place of major ceramic production, then ignored during the communist era, is again using its porcelain production to attract visitors. The town is located in the remote Jiangxi province. Today there are more than 2000 private workshops producing everything from fine blue and white Ming vases to tiny colourful teacups. If you want to visit and pick up a bargain, it will not come cheaply. Original hand-painted quality pieces can cost over $2000, the bargains are usually cheap copies that can also be found throughout China.
