- Following the success of the Canadian town of Chemainius, Tasmania's Sheffield followed suit and had paintings of murals places around town. The first mural was finished in 1986, and there are now at least 50 around the area.
- Nearby is Mt Roland, 1234m above sea level.
- After you have seen the murals and enjoyed the ambience, the town does no offer much more for the tourist. Plan an afternoon to see the place.
