Julia Creek
Julia Creek was the first white settlement in the Queensland north-west. It is located between Townsville (650 km) and Mt Isa (250 km) on the Overlander's Way.
Places to see and things to do
- try spotting the local endangered species - the Julia Creek Dunnart
- see the local history on display at the McIntyre Museum
- have a drink in a historic pub around the town.
- Stroll along Julia Creek Nature Trail, and you may spot a brolga or kangaroo.
