Girringun (Lumholtz) National Park hosts the huge Wallaman Falls, Australia's highest sheer drop waterfall at 268 metres. It is situated 50 km from Ingham.
Places to see and things to do
- see the wonder of the Wallaman Falls. Hopefully it will not be cover in fog as it is at some times during the year.
- Blencoe Falls, also in the park, is one of Australia's most stunning waterfalls.
- walk along the track to the bottom of the Wallaman Falls, and get a different viewpoint of these magnificent falls.
- camp at the Wallaman Falls campground, a short walk to the lookout at the top of the falls (must book in advance).
- walk to the top of Mt Fox and view this dormant volcano's crater.
- visit the Dalrymple Gap Track area.
