Town of 1770
A relaxed seaside town with an identity issue, as it can be known as just '1770', 'Seventeen Seventy' or 'Town of 1770'. The town was named after James Cook and his crew of the endeavour who came ashore here in 1770. The town has been touted as the 'New Noosa', but it still small and retains its charm.

- go fishing, snorkling and diving
- see the memorial cairn for the landing by Lieutenant James Cook in 1770
- Experience the LARC and discover the historic Bustard Head Lighthouse.
- go sea kyaking.
- explore the Joseph Banks Conservation Park at Round Hill Head. See the lookout and lighthouse.
- Take a day trip out to the nearby Great Barrier Reef - Lady Musgrave Island or Lady Elliott Island
- go camping at 1770 camping grounds - absolute beachfront.
- sit and watch sunset over Bustard Bay.
