Aussie MapA TV commercial by Telstra that was popular in 2008, advertising their Bigpond wireless service, has a blue VW Combi Van travelling around the country while its occupants are singing this well known travelling song.

For some of the towns listed in the song there is more than one place in Australia with the same name. For example, there is two Coolangattas and three Fingals.
