* Note: some budget airlines coming and going to Melbourne may use the Avalon Airport, which is quite a distance from Melbourne city.
Tullamarine Airport (MEL), Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Melbourne Airport is approximately 20 km or 25 minutes northwest of the City centre, and is easily assessable by car, bus or taxi.
Getting There and away
Taxi: Taxis are readily available. A trip to the city would take about 25 minutes and can cost up to $50.
Hire Cars: Most of the major car rental companies operate from the airport on the ground floor of the short term car park. Bookings can be made from the airport.

Public Transport: There is no public transport to and from the airport, although a train link is being talked about. If it goes ahead, it will be many years before there is one.
Private Buses and Shuttles: The cheapest and quickest way into the city is on the official Skybus Super Shuttle. It costs $15 one way (in 2006).
